PHOENIX (Saturday, June 12, 2021) -- 16 different teams from 13 clubs will be heading to Salt Lake City for the 2021 US Youth Soccer Far West Presidents Cup. Two of these teams, 12U boys and girls, will be competing in Salt Lake in the 2021 US Youth Soccer Far West Regional Championships.
Arizona Soccer Association has paid the entry fee and provided all teams with travel stipend for all teams competing in the Far West Presidents Cup.
"Spartans FC would like to thank ASA for their support of our players by paying the entry fee for Presidents Cup and providing a stipend for our teams to participate in the regional championship," said Spartans FC 07 Boys head coach Anthony Espinosa. "ASA's continued support is greatly appreciated."
The week-long tournament will be held at the Regional Athletic Complex from June 16-20. Winning 13U-19U teams will advance to the 2021 US Youth Soccer National Presidents Cup which will be held from July 7-11 in Des Moines, Iowa.
"Extremely proud of our small town market team in Northern Arizona starting out in the early beginnings with having to participate in the play-in match to qualify for the Advanced Leagues," said Flagstaff SC 04 Girls head coach Chad Schlenker. "Fast forward two plus years later and now being Presidents Cup champion and representing Arizona at the regionals. Such an amazing group of wonderful student-athletes, loving teammates, and passionate soccer players. They make coaching them all so much fun."
As we did throughout Presidents Cup and State Cup, ASA will be providing wall-to-wall coverage all week long. We're talking photos, videos, and social media updates. Be sure to give us a follow so you can keep up with all the action.
