Saturday, November 25, 2017 -- The DI NCAA College Cup started with 48 teams and it is now down to 16 teams as its heads into third round action tonight.
Four Arizona players, 12 players at the start of the tournament, have helped guide their squads to this point. Here is a recap of how they have performed in the first two rounds
#4 Louisville (first round bye) defeated San Francisco 3-2 (Second Round)
Tate Schmitt (Phoenix) scored the game winning goal in the 77th minute. Schmitt, a junior, has scored three goals in NCAA Tournament play and has added 20 regular season goals.
#9 Stanford (first round bye) defeated Pacific 0-0 (4-1 PK) (Second Round)
Adam Mosharrafa (Paradise Valley) started, played 110 minutes and made his penalty attempt.
SMU defeated Central Arkansas 2-0 (First Round) defeated #14 Georgetown 2-1 (Second Round)
Jacob Cohen (Phoenix) played 10 minutes in the victory over Central Arkansas and did not play in the win over Georgetown. Patrick Wintergalen (Phoenix) did not play.
