Today Governor Ducey issued a statewide declaration of emergency and enacted a mandatory statewide curfew at 8:00pm that will be effective for one week.
Several Clubs have reached out to ASA and asked how this affects ASA’s Return-to-Play. As this curfew is enacted it is ASA’s expectation that Clubs will abide by the curfew of 8:00pm and continue to adhere to Phase 2 of the ASA Return-to-Play Guidelines. Recognizing that the curfew will impact the amount of training time any Club or team may have, this does not affect the precautions that are in place in Phase 2. In fact, it is in times like this that it is incumbent on each of us to be more diligent and disciplined in our actions and adherence to the Phase 2 Guidelines.
The Arizona soccer community has been a recognized leader during these unprecedented times. Our commitment to our membership and our communities has been remarkable and there is no reason to expect any less now.
The Arizona soccer community is diverse, and we should celebrate that, as it is that diversity that helps us grow. While fierce competitors on the field, the members of ASA are equally fierce leaders in the communities that we live and play.
Be safe!!!
Be responsible!!!
Be compassionate!!!
Together we will make a difference. And together we will back to full, unrestricted play soon.
