PHOENIX (March 3, 2022) - The Arizona Soccer Association (ASA) today announced Alex Pozo as its new Director of Player Development.
With his diverse background in coaching and player development, Pozo will play a key role in many facets of soccer in Arizona. He will be focused on ASA’s community outreach programs, as well as ODP and coaching education. “We are thrilled to have Alex Pozo join our team,” said ASA CEO Jon Ruzan. “Being bilingual and multicultural, his background transcends all cultures and will be a catalyst for a unified Arizona soccer culture.”
Pozo has more than a decade of coaching experience and has earned his US Soccer Federation A license. “He’s a great addition to our staff,” said Chris Blundell, ASA’s Technical Director. “He is passionate, dedicated to developing players, and committed to our efforts to grow the game in Arizona.” He holds an undergraduate degree in economics from Universidad Catolica de Guayaquil, Ecuador and a master’s degree in sports management from Universidad Europea de Madrid, Spain.
