Arizona Soccer Association Announces Jon Ruzan as Chief Executive Officer

PHOENIX (Friday, September 17, 2021) -- The Arizona Soccer Association (ASA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Jon Ruzan as Chief Executive Officer.

With more than 25 years of business management, marketing communications, and nonprofit management experience in senior leadership roles, Mr. Ruzan also brings more than 20 years of soccer experience as a club and college soccer coach, administrator, board member and committee chair. His extensive business background ranges across several industries including financial services, real estate, and insurance, as well as trade association management, education, and athletic administration.

In his most recent role prior to joining ASA as CEO, Mr. Ruzan served as Vice President of Communications for STORE Capital, where he managed all aspects of corporate, internal, and marketing communications for the NYSE publicly traded real estate investment trust. His soccer career highlights include serving as a board member and committee chair for the Arizona Youth Soccer Association (now ASA), founding and leading the Banat Soccer Club, and coaching Paradise Valley Community College to an NJCAA D1 Women’s Soccer National Championship in 2016.

“After a nationwide search, we are pleased to announce Jon as our new CEO,” said ASA President Randy Karg. “With his blend of diverse skillsets and commitment to the game, we are confident that he is the right person to lead our staff and continue to foster the growth of the association.”

“I am honored to be chosen as the new CEO for ASA,” said Mr. Ruzan. “I am passionate about the beautiful game and its place in our communities. The growth ASA has experienced under the direction of the Board and my predecessor Rick Kelsey is truly inspirational, and I am excited for the opportunity to contribute to the development of the game in Arizona.”
