Phoenix (March 7, 2023)- Arizona Soccer Association (ASA) announced that it has entered into a multi-year agreement with Northern Arizona University that will make NAU its official higher education partner.
Under the agreement, NAU will have the opportunity to convey in a variety of ways the benefits of a higher education to the Association’s 70,000 players and their families. The university will work with the ASA in its efforts to expand the benefits of soccer to a larger number of Arizona youth. Also, the NAU brand will be visible at ASA tournaments both in Arizona and in other states where its players compete.
“Northern Arizona University is proud to become more deeply involved in a sport that brings such enjoyment to thousands of Arizona youth and their families,” said NAU President José Luis Cruz Rivera. “The ASA provides our young people with a great opportunity to develop their talents, leadership potential and encourages them to work collaboratively to reach team goals. We welcome the opportunity to engage with so many players who represent the next generation of college students and who can benefit from access to the kind of high-quality higher education that NAU provides.”
“Arizona Soccer Association (ASA) is proud to collaborate with Northern Arizona University in promoting higher education in our state,” said ASA CEO Jonathan Berzins. “ASA and NAU are like-minded when it comes to creating opportunities for youth across Arizona. This dynamic partnership will demonstrate that higher education is within reach for every young person in this generation and those to come that desire a college experience. It is indeed a privilege to join with NAU in this amazing endeavor.”
