
Wednesday, September 25th, 2019 -- Arizona's Brooke Denesik (#23 in the photo) and BIIK Kazygurt have advanced to the Round of 16 in the UEFA Women's Champions League.
On Wednesday morning, Denesik, who graduated from Boulder Creek High School, started and played 90 minutes in BIIK Kazygurt's (Kazakhstan) 2-0 win over Anderlecht. In the first leg, played on September 12, Denesik also started in the 1-1 draw.
Denesik isn't the only Arizona player competing in this UEFA Women's Champions League round. Scottsdale's Jorian Baucom and AC Sparta Praha Ženy (Czech Republic) will be hosting Icelandic side Breiðablik on Thursday. In the first leg, Baucom came off the bench in a 3-2 loss.
