This is the first-ever call-up to the U.S. Men's National Team for both players who currently compete for Major League Soccer's Real Salt Lake. Lennon and Glad were both members of the U.S. U-20 Men's National Team that competed in the 2017 FIFA U-20 World Cup. At the 2017 FIFA U-20 World Cup, Lennon scored two goals and Glad recorded one.

Glad, 20, made his professional debut for Real Salt Lake at 18 years old in June of 2015. Since then, Glad has become a regular starter for RSL appearing in 53 matches. Lennon, 20, joined Real Salt Lake on loan from Liverpool prior to the 2017 season. In his debut season for RSL, Lennon scored three goals and notched four assists in 25 matches.

On January 28, the U.S. will play a friendly against Bosnia and Herzegovina. This will be the first opportunity for Glad and Lennon to be capped by the U.S.
