Friday, June 7th, 2019 -- Justen Glad (Tucson) and Brooks Lennon (Paradise Valley) have been named to the U-23 Men's National Team by head coach Jason Kries for an upcoming camp.
The week-long camp will be held in Herriman, Utah, from June 9-16, and it will be used as a stepping stone for these players looking to make the U-23 team that will attempt to qualify for the 2020 Japan Olympics later this year.
The 2019 CONCACAF Men's Olympic Qualifying Championship will be held in Costa Rica later this year from October 3-15. The final two teams will qualify for the 2020 Japan Olympics. The last time the U.S. qualified for the Olympics was back in 2008.
Both Glad and Lennon have represented the U.S. at the U-17, U-18, and U-20 levels. They both play for Major League Soccer's Real Salt Lake. On an interesting note, Lennon is listed on the roster as a forward. He started out as a winger, but was converted to right back by Real Salt Lake who were suffering injuries in the 2018 season.
Glad and Lennon's callups continue a great run for Arizona who have seen the following players earn minute at the International level.
