PHOENIX (Tuesday, April 6th, 2021) -- Two Arizona natives have found homes for the 2021 USL Championship season.
Staying home and signing with Phoenix Rising FC is Ryan Flood (Corona del Sol High School) and heading to Texas to sign with San Antonio FC is Sam Gleadle (Campo Verde High School)
Gleadle, who played locally for Scottsdale Blackhawks and the Real Salt Lake - Arizona Academy in Casa Grande, joins San Antonio after a successful three-year stint at Reno 1868 FC where he appeared in 45 matches and scored seven goals, and notched seven assists. Gleadle did join Major League Soccer's Minnesota United in November 2020 but did not appear in any matches. Learn more about Gleadle from this interview back in 2018.
For Flood, who played locally for SC del Sol, Sereno Soccer Club, and the Real Salt Lake - Arizona Academy in Casa Grande, this is his first professional contract after playing locally for Sporting AZ FC and FC Arizona.
