Saturday, April 11th, 2020 -- The Arizona Soccer Association announces a new format for the popular ASA FIFA 20 Online Tournament.

To celebrate three weeks of competition, players will now be able to select a Champions League Round of 16 team. Additionally, ASA has moved the tournament hosting over to Smash.gg.

By moving over to Smash.gg, ASA will be able to host entire tournament brackets in one day. For example, the new format will see 32 players from "Bracket A" compete on XBOX and 32 players from "Bracket A" compete on PS4 all on Monday. One bracket winner from each system advancing to the Grand Finale on Friday. On Tuesday, 32 players from "Bracket B" for XBOX and PS4 will play, on Wednesday, 32 players from "Bracket C" for XBOX and PS4 will play, and on Thursday, 32 players from "Bracket D" for XBOX and PS4 will play

The new format also allows the ASA to schedule all matches within that bracket into a two-hour window with predetermined match times. To keep the matches moving quickly, there will be a "check in" feature where competing players must "check in" prior to their match on Smash.gg. This allows both players to know when their opponent is ready without having to wait for an extended period of time throughout the day.
