ASA Organizational Announcement

Arizona Soccer Association (ASA) continues to review the services it provides to its membership, as well as the staffing needs required to meet those needs.  As we continue to evolve, ASA wants to advise of some changes that will be made effective May 1, 2019.

Carlos Juarez’s role will change from ASA Technical Director to State Director of Coaching Education.  Carlos has been with ASA for just over a year and his contributions in the coaching education space have been outstanding.  With this change in scope, Carlos will bring a more dedicated focus to coaching education to include not only delivery of courses but also the development of an instruction staff.  Carlos has been instrumental in ensuring the delivery of coaching education sessions throughout Arizona.  Under his direction coaching courses have been delivered in Yuma, Bullhead City, Prescott, Flagstaff, Tucson, Phoenix, and Maricopa.  These courses include condensed coaching modules, Grassroots Licenses, and D License in both English and Spanish.  As one of the most respected coaching educators in the country this change in role will provide ASA and its membership a greater commitment to overall coaching education.

With the change in Carlos’s role ASA will be posting and hiring a new position to support the membership in the continued development and delivery of ODP and After-School programs.  This position will work to ensure ASA is providing services state-wide by partnering with organizations to identify talent to be invited to ODP as well as developing after-school programs that will give more kids an opportunity to play soccer, regardless of where they may live.  This position will also be a key partner with Carlos in developing and delivering coaching education.  The position description and application process is available on the ASA website.

ASA is excited about these changes and feels this will only elevate ASA’s ability to provide services to all of its membership throughout Arizona.
