Tuesday, June 4th, 2019 -- Arizona's Richard Ledezma got the start and recorded an assist in the U.S. U-20 Men's National Team win over France in the Round of 16 at the U-20 World Cup. The U.S. will now face Ecuador in the quarterfinals on June 8th.
Ledezma, a former ODP player, recorded his assist when Sebastian Soto's buried home the opening goal in the 24th minute. This was Ledezma's second appearance at the U-20 World Cup, previously coming off the bench in a group stage win over Qatar.
This is the third straight quarterfinals appearance for the U.S. In 2015, the U.S. was knocked out by Serbia in penalties and in 2015 and by Venezuela in extra time in 2017. Both teams would go on to advance to the final with Serbia taking home the title.
