
Monday, November 27, 2017 -- The women's team at the Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University has advanced to the Second Round of the NAIA Women's Soccer Championship after defeating the University of Science & Arts, 3-2, in the First Round on Saturday.
Embry-Riddle, seeded #15, will now face #2 Spring Arbor University on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. local time.
The squad features seven Arizona players and they are Holly Ross (Oro Valley), Linda Hughes (Peoria), Peighton Gumm (Gilbert), Graziana Temsah (Phoenix), Maddy Markham (Prescott) Clair Cashmore (Flagstaff), Andie Dean (Flagstaff).
Embry-Riddle breezed through the regular season winning all 10 conference matches. They then defeated La Sierra University, 4-0, and the University of California - Merced, 1-0, to claim the Cal Pac Championship title for the second time in three years.
Embry-Riddle ranks second in the nation in shutouts per game (.800) and total shutouts (16).
