Tuesday, July 31st, 2018 -- The Arizona Soccer Association is pleased to announce that Randy Karg has been elected as the new President of the board. Additionally, Joanna MacLean has been elected as the new Director of Tournaments.

Randy Karg, an Arizona native, grew up playing youth soccer for Moon Valley SC, Westown SC, and Thunderbird High School.  In 1992, he graduated from Northern Arizona University and began to give back to the community as a youth coach.  Professionally, he was a Director at JCL Health Network, where he was awarded the Carl Satterfield Award for innovative and strategic thinking in resolving problems and establishing new and/or improved programs. In 2008, he earned his MBA from the University of Phoenix and moved his family to Midland, Texas, to work at Midland Memorial Hospital. In his spare time, he served on the Midland Soccer Association Board, refereed high school soccer, assisted coaching North Texas ODP, and worked with a Professional Development League (PDL) soccer team based out of Midland.  In 2013, Karg moved back to Phoenix to take over the family business where he has been ever since.  He has served on ASA board for the past four years and he has served as a board member for Sun Country Credit Union.  He currently coaches all levels of soccer from college, high school, and club. He has been married for 18 years and has three children that play soccer. Karg is looking forward to growing ASA membership, volunteering engagement and building relationships with all the AZ clubs.

Joanna MacLean comes to ASA with 12 years (and counting) at American Airlines, where she has worked extensively in regulatory compliance and training and development. MacLean has a broad range of soccer experience from serving in an administrative position and as a board member with several local clubs. Those responsibilities include everything from acting as a field marshal to playing an integral role in building and growing a successful competitive program. She has experience with many local and out-of-town tournaments, and she has been serving on the ASA Tournament Committee, both of which have given her critical insight into best practices for tournament organizers and participants. Additionally, MacLean is also a currently certified Grade 8 Referee. She is eager to get to work making Arizona soccer the best possible experience.
