ODP Recap (Saturday): Seven Teams Advance To Semifinals

Saturday, January 6th, 2018 -- Seven Arizona ODP Boys and Girls teams are advancing to the 2018 US Youth Soccer ODP West Championships Semifinals. Vying for a shot at the title are the 05 Boys, 03 Boys, 02 Boys, 02 WC Boys, 01 Boys, 03 Girls, and 02 Girls.

2005 Boys | 2002 Girls

The semifinals will be played on Sunday morning. Playing at 9:00 a.m. are the 03 Girls (Field 11), 02 Girls (Field 12), 02 Boys (Field 2), and 02 WC Boys (Field 2). The 05 Boys (Field 7), 03 Boys (Field 4), and 01 Boys (Field 3) will play at 11:00 a.m. The 04 Boys advanced out of group play and will be competing in a play-in match at 9:00 a.m. (Field 17) with the semifinals at 3:00 p.m.

The remaining Arizona teams will be competing in a consolation match. The 01 Girls will play at 9:00 a.m. (Field 8) and the 05 Girls (Field 6) and 04 Girls (Field 4) will play at 1:00 p.m. The 03 WC Boys will play at 3:00 p.m. (Field 14).

Observations from group play

--The 02 Girls (3-0-0) and the 04 Boys (2-0-0) were the only Arizona teams to win all their group matches

--The 02 Girls and the 04 Boys scored the most goals in group play with 16

--The Boys teams went a combined 13-2-5 with 67 goals scored and 10 goals conceded

--The Girls teams went a combined 8-5-1 with 46 goals scored and 16 goals conceded
