
Wednesday, February 14th, 2018 -- Phoenix Rising FC's latest signing hits close to home as the club announced on Wednesday the addition of Phoenix native Evan Waldrep.
Waldrep, 20, is about as local as they come. He won three Arizona state cups with CCV Stars before joining the Real Salt Lake - Arizona Academy in Casa Grande. At the RSL - AZ Academy Waldrep scored the fourth and final goal in the U-15/16's 4-2 win over Solar Chelsea in the 2012-13 U.S. Soccer Development Academy Finals Week Championship.
Waldrep played college soccer at Creighton University for two seasons before transferring to Grand Canyon University. He also played for FC Tucson and has represented the U.S. at the U16, U18, and U20 levels.
Waldrep has been on trail with Phoenix Rising FC and logged 45 minutes in Rising's 3-2 loss to Major League Soccer's New York Red Bulls this past Saturday. He will be in uniform tonight when Phoenix Rising FC hosts MLS's Colorado Rapids.
Right now, Phoenix Rising FC is currently in preseason. with the regular season kicking off on March 17. Phoenix Rising FC's first home game is March 24.
