Monday, October 23, 2017 -- This past weekend's boys and girls matches in the Phoenix Rising FC Arizona Premier League featured matches with first place in the group on the line. We watched Arizona Arsenal 03 Premier Teal Girls vs Scottsdale Soccer 03 Girls and Tanque Verde 03 Boys vs FBSL Tuzos 03 Boys.
Every week, the Arizona Youth Soccer Association will be highlighting a boys and girls "Game of the Week" match in the Phoenix Rising FC Arizona Premier League.

Girls
Arizona Arsenal 03 Premier Teal Girls vs Scottsdale Soccer 03 Girls

Arizona Arsenal entered the match with a 5-0-0 record and first in the group, while Scottsdale Soccer came in looking to keep pace.
The first action came in the 8th minute when the Scottsdale Soccer goalkeeper was a huge save on the line from a penalty. She and the Soccer defense stopped further Arsenal chances in the 15th and 25th minutes.
However, the breakthrough for Arsenal came in the 35th minute when Jessie Boult forced a turnover near the halfway line. She then dribbled forward and into the box, took a touch to her right, and finished far post.
After the halftime break, Arsenal doubled their lead when Mya Fortun, unmarked on the back post, collected a cross and finished far post. The third and final goal for Arsenal came in the 71st minute when Boult charged into the box and volleyed home a cross from the left wing.
Arsenal is now 6-0-0 and will be back in action on Saturday, October 28 when they take on SC del Sol 03 Girls. Scottsdale Soccer will look to rebound this Friday night against MSC United.
Boys
Tanque Verde 03 Boys vs FBSL Tuzos 03 Boys

In a rematch of last year's State Cup Championship match, Tanque Verde and Tuzos played to a scoreless draw that was dominated by strong defensive play.
The first action for either side occurred in the 20th minute when the Tuzos goalkeeper made a huge stop on a blistering Tanque Verde shot from outside the box. He against came up with big saves in the 24th minute and in the 38th minute his hand save prevented a Tanque Verde goal.
The match slowed down after the halftime break and the best opportunity for a game winner came in the 76th minute when a Tuzos player fired a shot that hit the side netting.
Tuzos are first in the group with a 6-1-0 record and Tanque Verde is second with a 4-1-1 record. Tanque Verde will be back in action this Saturday against North Scottsdale. Tuzos will have a short break before facing Legacy 03 Red on Friday, November 3
