
Friday, January 31st, 2020 -- January has been a busy month for Arizona players at the international levels as six players were named to U.S. Soccer Men's and Women's National Teams. Below is a brief recap on each players called up.
U.S. Men's National Team
Tucson's Justen Glad (Real Salt Lake) is currently seeking his first cap at the senior level. This is the second year in a row that Glad has been named to the USMNT for its annual January camp. Last Saturday, Glad was named to travel roster that will play against Costa Rica on February 1. There is a strong chance he can see the pitch as only three of the eight defenders on the squad have earned a senior team appearance.
U-18 Women's National Team
Gilbert's Mollie Griswold (Arizona Arsenal/) is currently with the U-18 Women's National Team as they host China, the Netherlands, and Norway at the Tricontinental Cup. Griswold, who helped the Arizona 02 Girls win the 17U ODP West title in 2019, scored a goal in a win over Norway and started in the win against China. The U-18 Women's National Team will wrap up the tournament on Friday night against the Netherlands at 4:30 Arizona time. Watch it here.
U-16 Women's National Team
Phoenix's Maggie Cagle (Phoenix Rising FC) was named to a 28-player training camp that ended this week. The purpose of the camp was to identify players who are age-eligible for the 2020 FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup. Cagle has been a fixture with U.S. Soccer as she halped the USA win the 2019 CONCACAF Girls U-15 Championship back in August.
U-14 Women's National Team
Three Arizona players were named to the U-14 Talent Identification Program for the Girls' Youth National Teams. Heading to Chula Vista next week are Scottsdale's Paxton Bock (SC del Sol), Cave Creek's Carlie Diaz (SC del Sol) and Waddell's Jessica Bedolla (SC del Sol). The objective of the camp is to expand and improve the Women's and Girls' Youth National Team player pool.
