PHOENIX (July 26, 2021) -- The Arizona Soccer Association (ASA) has received and accepted the resignation of Rick Kelsey, CEO, ASA. Rick's decision to resign was his own and made for personal reasons. Rick's last day is October 15, 2021; until then, he will continue leading ASA and supporting transition efforts.
As many of you know - Rick has worked in Arizona as a coach, a referee, a volunteer, Vice President, and President of ASA during the years preceding his time as CEO. During the COVID 19 pandemic and Return to Play, his leadership has been instrumental in enabling youth soccer to continue to flourish in Arizona. In 2020, Rick was named to SoccerToday's Most Influential Leaders In Soccer.
A search committee consisting of ASA Executive Board Members will be conducting a national search for the next CEO/Executive Director. The intent is to have a replacement identified as quickly as possible; however, the focus will be on getting the best and most qualified person on board. The job description and posting will be announced no later than July 28, 2021.
The Board of Directors wants to thank Rick for his years of service to Arizona soccer.
