Three Teams Advance To Far West Regional Champions Through Desert Conference

National-Leagues

Tuesday, April 9th, 2019 -- With National League completions coming to a close, below is a recap on how the Arizona teams performed this year.

National League Desert Conference 
 
Arizona teams had another strong showing at the National League Desert Conference with three teams emerging as champions. 
 
FBSL Tuzos "Jonathan" Academy 07 won the 12U Boys, FBSL Tuzos Academy 02 won the 17U Boys, and Barca Academy 00 won the 19U Boys. All three teams have qualified for the US Youth Soccer Far West Regional Championships which will be held in Boise, Idaho from June 17-23.
 
The FBSL Tuzos "Jonathan" Academy 07 team breezed through the competition posting a 7-2-0 record with 30 goals scored and just eight conceded. The FBSL Tuzos Academy 02 team recovered from an opening match loss in November by winning their next five matches. This year's title is their third consecutive title in Desert Conference competition. Barca Academy 00 completed an impressive run by winning their final four matches.
 
National League
 
While no Arizona teams advanced the National Championships through the National League, the five Arizona teams competing performed well.
 
CCV Stars 05 Girls led the Arizona teams in terms of performance by going undefeated with a 3-0-4 record. They tied for first in the Red 14U Girls Group, but were eliminated due to a tiebreaker. SC del Sol White 04 Boys went 4-1-0, RSL-AZ Southern Arizona 03 Boys, Tuzos Academy 02 Boys, and RSL-AZ North 01 Boys all went 2-2-1.
