Two AZ Players Set For UEFA Women's Champions League This Week

While one Arizona played has already made her debut in the UEFA Women's Champions League this season another is set to mark her debut this week.

Jorian Baucom (Scottsdale) plays for defending Cezch Republic champions AC Sparta Praha Ženy who take on Breiðablik in Iceland on September 11 (video stream here). Baucom signed with AC Sparta after a brief stint with the NWSL's Houston Dash this summer. Baucom has appeared in both of AC Sparta's league matches this season and she scored a goal in the first league game on August 18. Baucom played for Arizona's ODP, graduated from Pinnacle High School, and attended LSU and Colorado. 

Brooke Denesik (Anthem) played for defending Kazakhstani champions BIIK-Kazygurt who face Anderlecht on September 12. BIIK-Kazygurt entered the 2019-20 EUFA Women's Champions League in the Qualifying Round, which placed them in group play. Denesik started and played 90 minutes in the final two matches of group play to help her team qualify for the Round of 32. She recorded an assist in her first match  - watch it here (:55 second mark). Denesik signed with the team back in March after a graduating from Texas Tech. Locally, she graduated from Boulder Creek.
